Mylor Parish NDP referendum: cast your vote on 23 June 2022
Cornwall Council is holding the referendum for Mylor Parish’s NDP on Thursday 23 June 2022. This is the final stage in the Plan’s progress. If there is a majority in favour of it being adopted by Cornwall Council, is becomes part of planning law and will be used to inform future planning decisions.
Here is a reminder of what it is all about.
What does the Plan say? The Plan states the community’s priorities for planning in the Parish for the next 10 years. It covers: housing for local people; preferences for new developments; protection for the AONB and the environment; support for the local economy; facilities and amenities for local people; better management of traffic, and better parking.
What is the referendum question? The question is: ‘Do you want Cornwall Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Mylor to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’
When is the referendum? You can vote on Thursday 23 June 2022, from 7.00am until 10.00pm.
Where do I vote? Your polling card, which Cornwall Council has posted to you, tells you where to go to vote: in Flushing Village Club for residents on the electoral role for Flushing; in Tremayne Hall (Pope Room), Mylor Bridge for residents on the electoral roll for Mylor.
How is the result decided? If more people vote ‘Yes’ than ‘No’, the Plan will be adopted by Cornwall Council and used to inform future planning decisions.
How was the NDP put together? Mylor Parish’s NDP is the result of four years of research and consultation with the community. Mylor Parish Council submitted it to Cornwall Council and it passed the examination with some minor amendments.
