Every picture tells a story
When our first mass survey is launched on Monday 12 March, you will see a logo on the cover: a colourful tree made out of words. This is a ‘wordle’ constructed from words and phrases written by people who have filled in postcards at public events since last autumn.
The postcards invited people to tell us what they love about living here; the answers we received included the beautiful surroundings, the friendly people and the vibrant villages.
When we asked what they would like to change or improve, they wrote about parking, housing, more opportunities to work, ways to calm traffic through our villages, and other ideas to improve facilities and make it possible for people of all ages to enjoy living here.
Our tree logo reflects those comments and the community’s ideas about what to change. It was easy to make, using an app, and completely free; we simply typed in the words from the postcards, chose the shape of the tree and hit ‘return’.
Some of the words are larger than others, which means they were mentioned many times, so the tree shows what we as a community care most about. Look out for it on posters and signs around the parish from next week as we encourage everyone aged 16 and over to complete the survey.
It’s our future and our plan so make sure you have your say.
